वाराणसी में मणिकर्णिका घाट तोड़े जाने को लेकर इंदौर में हो रहे विरोध के बीच पूर्व लोकसभा स्पीकर सुमित्रा महाजन ने वाराणसी कलेक्टर से फोन पर चर्चा की। कलेक्टर ने ताई को लिखित में घाट को लेकर स्पष्टीकरण भी दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि घाट पर पहले की तुलना में अंत्येष्टि के लिए ज्यादा शव आने लगे हैं।

इस कारण अब घाट पर व्यवस्थाएं जुटाना पड़ रही हैं। इसी वजह से घाट चौड़े किए जा रहे हैं। उधर होलकर राज परिवार के यशवंतराव होलकर वाराणसी पहुंचे और उन्होंने देवी अहिल्या व अन्य प्रतिमाएं सुरक्षित रखवा कर दोष निवारण अभिषेक किया।

<p>वाराणसी में घाट तोड़े जाने की घटना के बाद पूर्व लोकसभा स्पीकर सुमित्रा महाजन ने वाराणसी कलेक्टर सत्येंद्र कुमार से बातचीत की। कलेक्टर ने उनसे कहा कि प्रतिमाएं सुरक्षित कर ली गई हैं। उन्हें फिर घाट पर स्थापित किया जाएगा।

घाट पर अंत्येष्टि के लिए ज्यादा शव आने लगे हैं। इस कारण घाट पर प्लेटफार्म, लकड़ी स्टोरेज, पूजा स्टोर, मुंडन स्थल बनाया जा रहा है। घाट पर मढ़ी को भी बनाया जाएगा। कलेक्टर ने यह भी स्वीकार किया कि मशीनों से तोड़े जाने के कारण जो प्रतिमाएं प्रभावित हुई हैं, उन्हें सुरक्षित रखा गया है।

प्रिंस पहुंचे वाराणसी घाट तोड़े जाने की घटना के बाद प्रिंस यशवंतराव वाराणसी पहुंचे। वे अफसरों से मिले और क्षतिग्रस्त मूर्तियों को सुरक्षित रखवा कर उनका दोष निवारण अभिषेक किया। अफसरों ने भी इस पूजा में भाग लिया। प्रिंस ने कहा कि हमने मांग की है कि इस घटना की जांच होना चाहिए और जिन अफसरों ने लापरवाही की है, उनके खिलाफ एक्शन लिया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने बताया कि चार में से दो प्रतिमाएं पूरी तरह सुरक्षित हैं।
