इंदौर के पश्चिमी बायपास का निर्माण अभी भी शुरू नहीं हो पाया है, जबकि निर्माण की मंजूरी केंद्रीय परिवहन व राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने तीन साल पहले की थी। 70 किलोमीटर लंबी इस सड़क में 25 गांवों की जमीन का अधिग्रहण होना है, लेकिन अभी तक पांच गांवों की जमीन भी प्रशासन अधिगृहित कर पाया है और अधिग्रहण प्रक्रिया में हो रही देरी के कारण इस रिंग रोड के काम का मुर्हूत नहीं निकल पा रहा है,जबकि इस सड़क का निर्माण सिंहस्थ से पहले होना है, ताकि दूसरे राज्यों से आने वाले ट्रैफिक को उज्जैन जाने में परेशानी न हो पाए।

<p>यह सड़क डकाच्या गांव से महू और पीथमपुर को जोड़ेगी इसके निर्माण से महू, पीथमपुर और देवास के ग्रामीण क्षेत्र इंदौर के और करीब आ जाएंगे और मार्ग के आसपास बसाहट शुरू हो जाएगी। 70 किलोमीटर मार्ग के निर्माण पर चार हजार करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। इस सड़क में1131 हेक्टेयर जमीन अधिगृहित होना है। इसमें 40 हेक्टेयर वन विभाग की जमीन है।

पूर्वी बायपास 38 गांवों से होकर गुजरेगा। यह छहलेन बनेगा। दस साल पहले भी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण ने नए पूर्वी बायपास का सर्वे किया था, लेकिन बाद में पुराने बायपास को ही चार लेन से छहलेन करने का काम शुरू हो गया था और नए बायपास के निर्माण की योजना ठंडे बस्ते में चली गई थी।

सांसद शंकर लालवानी ने बताया कि जितनी जमीन मिल चुकी है, वहां बायपास निर्माण शुरू करने के लिए अफसरों को कहा गया है। इस बायपास के बनने से देवास, महू, पीथमपुर को भी फायदा होगा।
