इंदौर में दिन में भले ही सामान्य से एक डिग्री तापमान ज्यादा रहा, लेकिन रात में कड़ाके की ठंड पड़ी। प्रदेश के एकमात्र हिल स्टेशन पचमढ़ी से भी ज्यादा न्यूनतम तापमान इंदौर का रहा। गुरुवार रात शहर का न्यूनतम तापमान 4.1 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया। इस वर्ष के दिसम्बर माह का यह सबसे न्यूनतम तापमान दर्ज किया गया।

<p>सामान्यतः यह माना जा है कि अच्छी बारिश हुई है तो ठण्ड भी अधिक रहेगी, इस साल जून से अक्टूबर माह के अंत तक बारिश होती रही। नवंबर माह अपने साथ ठंड को लेकर ही आया। पिछले महीने 15 नवम्बर को न्यूनतम तापमान 6.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज किया गया था जो दशक का नवम्बर का सबसे ठण्डा दिन था।

मौसम विभाग के अनुसार दिसम्बर माह में अभी तक बीते सभी दिनों में न्यूनतम तापमान सामान्य से लगातार कम ही दर्ज हो रहा है। दिसम्बर में चल रही शीत लहर से लग रहा है कि कही 27 दिसम्बर 1936 का रिकॉर्ड 1.1 डिग्री सेल्सियस का रिकार्ड न टूट जाए। इसी वर्ष 11 दिसंबर को न्यूनतम तापमान 4. 5 डिग्री सेल्सियस दर्ज गया था तभी से यह अहसास हो गया था कि ठण्ड इस साल कोई नया रिकार्ड ही कायम करेगी।

पिछली रात इंदौर पचमढ़ी से अधिक ठंडा रहा। प्रदेश ने न्यूनतम तापमान वाले नगरों में इंदौर 4.1 डिग्री सेल्सियस के दूसरे स्थान पर था।पहले स्थान पर शिवपुरी था, जहां 4 डिग्री तापमान रहा जबकि पचमढ़ी में न्यूनतम तापमान 5. 6 डिग्री दर्ज किया गया।

मौसम विभाग के अनुसार रात में ठंडी हवा की गति अधिक रह रही। बीती रात हवा की गति 11 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार थी ,दृश्यता 1500 मीटर थी। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार पहाड़ियों पर हो रही बर्फ़बारी का प्रभाव नगर के मौसम पर दिख रहा है इस कारण पचमढ़ी से इंदौर ठंडा रह रहा है।

मौसम विभाग के अनुसार ठण्ड के साथ शहर की हवा ही प्रदूषित होती जा रही है 18 दिसबंर को नगर का एक्यूआई 153 दर्ज किया गया था। इस माह में 12 दिसम्बर को यह 300 था। शहर की सड़कों पर पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट के बजाय निजी वाहनों पर निर्भरता अधिक होने से वाहनों के प्रदूषण का करीब पचपन प्रतिशत योगदान है। पर्यावरणविद ओ पी जोशी का कहना है शहर के घटते पेड़ो की संख्या भी एक वजह है। प्रदूषण से सर्दी और खांसी के मरीज बढ़ रहे है , वायरल बुखार से कई लोग पीड़ित है।
