मुख्यमंत्री ने खुशी जताते हुए बताया कि मध्य प्रदेश पर्यटन के मामले में लगातार आगे बढ़ रहा है और इस साल राज्य में आने वाले सैलानियों की संख्या में काफी बढ़ोतरी हुई है। राष्ट्रीय चंबल अभयारण्य की ओर से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्यमंत्री ने लुप्त हो रहे जीवों को बचाने की बात कही। उन्होंने पालपुर किले के सामने कूनो नदी में कुल 53 घड़ियाल और 25 कछुए छोड़े।

इन 53 घड़ियालों में 28 नर और 25 मादाएं शामिल हैं। इसके साथ ही, दुर्लभ प्रजाति के 25 कछुए भी नदी के पानी में छोड़े गए। मुख्यमंत्री ने साफ किया कि राज्य सरकार वन्यजीवों की सुरक्षा और उनके संरक्षण के लिए पूरी तरह गंभीर है। डॉ. यादव ने प्रधानमंत्री की पहल पर शुरू हुए चीता प्रोजेक्ट का भी जिक्र किया। उन्होंने बताया कि यह योजना काफी सफल साबित हो रही है। हाल ही में बोत्सवाना से 9 और चीते लाए गए हैं, जिसके बाद अब मध्य प्रदेश में चीतों की कुल संख्या बढ़कर 48 हो गई है। यह प्रदेश के वन्यजीव प्रेमियों के लिए एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष हेमंत खंडेलवाल ने भी घड़ियाल छोड़े। इस खास मौके पर पूर्व वन मंत्री रामनिवास रावत, सहरिया विकास प्राधिकरण के अध्यक्ष तुरसनपाल बरिया, राज्य मंत्री सीताराम आदिवासी और जिला पंचायत अध्यक्ष गुड्डी बाई आदिवासी सहित कई अन्य नेता और अधिकारी मौजूद रहे। राष्ट्रीय चंबल अभयारण्य, देवरी मुरैना की ओर से अतिथियों को स्मृति चिन्ह भी भेंट किए गए।
