जिले के बिछिया थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत ग्राम बरखेड़ा में बच्चा चोर की अफवाह के चलते एक मानसिक रूप से अस्वस्थ बालक के साथ मारपीट के मामले में पुलिस ने तीन आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। यह कार्रवाई बरखेड़ा सरपंच थानसिंह उइके की शिकायत पर की गई।

जानकारी के अनुसार 26 फरवरी को गांव में घूम रहे एक मानसिक रूप से अस्वस्थ बालक को ग्रामीणों ने बच्चा चोर समझ लिया। आरोप है कि बरखेड़ा निवासी रामदयाल उइके, मदन उइके उर्फ पोचा और कमल उइके ने बालक के हाथ-पैर बांधकर पंचायत भवन के सामने गाली-गलौज और मारपीट की। घटना का वीडियो 3 मार्च को सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हुआ, जिसके बाद पुलिस ने संज्ञान लिया। सरपंच ने वीडियो की सीडी और लिखित शिकायत पुलिस को सौंपकर कार्रवाई की मांग की थी।

बिछिया पुलिस ने 3 मार्च को तीनों आरोपियों के खिलाफ भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) की धारा 127(2), 296(ए), 115(2) और 3(5) के तहत मामला दर्ज कर उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया। आरोपियों को न्यायालय में पेश किया जा रहा है।

घटना के दिन ही पुलिस ने बालक को ग्रामीणों से छुड़ाकर बिछिया अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया था। हालांकि, वह अस्पताल से लापता हो गया। 27 फरवरी को एक सड़क दुर्घटना में उसकी मृत्यु की सूचना मिली। पुलिस हिट एंड रन का मामला भी दर्ज कर जांच कर रही है। प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार मृतक बालक छत्तीसगढ़ के कबीरधाम जिले का निवासी था और उसकी मानसिक स्थिति ठीक नहीं थी। परिवार की पहचान कर ली गई है। पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट का इंतजार है।

जिला बाल कल्याण समिति ने भी मामले का संज्ञान लिया है। समिति अध्यक्ष डॉ. गजेंद्र गुप्ता ने बताया कि मीडिया में खबर आने के बाद महिला सुरक्षा शाखा और पुलिस अधिकारियों से समन्वय कर जानकारी जुटाई गई है। भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं की पुनरावृत्ति रोकने के लिए प्रशासन के साथ मिलकर आवश्यक कदम उठाए जाएंगे।
