गया शहर में मंगलवार सुबह रामशिला-प्रेतशिला रोड स्थित दुर्गा मंदिर के पास एक दर्दनाक सड़क हादसा हुआ। मंदिर से पूजा कर साइकिल से लौट रहे बुजुर्ग जयप्रकाश को तेज रफ्तार ट्रैक्टर ने कुचल दिया। गंभीर रूप से घायल जयप्रकाश को तत्काल अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है, जहां उनकी हालत नाजुक बताई जा रही है। जानकारी के अनुसार, छोटकी नवादा मोहल्ला निवासी जयप्रकाश रोज की तरह सुबह पूजा-अर्चना के लिए साइकिल से निकले थे। पूजा करने के बाद जब वे सोनार पट्टी गली की ओर लौट रहे थे, तभी तेज रफ्तार ट्रैक्टर ने उन्हें जोरदार टक्कर मार दी और कुचल दिया।

प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों ने बताया कि टक्कर इतनी जोरदार थी कि जयप्रकाश सड़क पर खून से लथपथ गिर गए और मौके पर काफी रक्तस्राव हुआ। उनके पूजा के फूल भी सड़क पर बिखरे हुए थे, जो इस दर्दनाक हादसे की भयावह स्थिति बयां कर रहे थे।

घायल व्यक्ति की पहचान जयप्रकाश के रूप में हुई है। वे गया कॉटन एंड जूट मिल में कार्यरत रहे और रिटायर होने के बाद परिवार के साथ रहते थे। उनका एक पुत्र गया सिविल कोर्ट में नौकरी करता है। रिटायरमेंट के बाद उन्होंने कुछ समय तक खिचड़ी की दुकान भी चलाई थी। स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार, जयप्रकाश धार्मिक प्रवृत्ति के थे और प्रतिदिन बागेश्वरी मंदिर सहित अन्य मंदिरों में पूजा करने जाते थे।
